Trade Show Visitors awaiting the BIG DRAWING

FIVE MINUTES BEFORE THE DRAWING!

Jim Sitkiewicz, 2010 winner, DRAWS THE TICKET!!!

The 2011 Aviation Trade Show was a big success for everybody in attendance.   The Airmen’s Association sold almost all of their raffle tickets, lots of good company was had by all the visitors who often see each other only once or twice a year, and a lucky Massachusetts guy won a GREAT  airplane.   It was especially a good weekend for us here at DAN’S AIRCRAFT …..We received a lot of nice compliments about this year’s Cub Project and we had a chance to see many of our customers from out of state as well from here  in Alaska.

DAN’S AIRCRAFT would like  to thank all the suppliers who generously donated a lot of expensive components and hardware for this project.  We will feature many of them in this blog in the near future.

Well, in a couple of days we’ll deliver the new ALASKA AIRMEN’S Raffle airplane to Lake Hood.  We just needed a couple more hours to complete our checkout of the airplane and we made a few stops at Knik Glacier and Settlers Bay before returning to Merrill Field.             e.s.

CHECKING OUT LAKE GEORGE AT KNIK

After climbing  to about 6000 to work the cylinders and get the motor up to temp we shot over to nearby Knik glacier and LakeGeorge for some short gravel bar workouts with the new Cub  with the bushwheels 35′s…..  A few of the local pilots were in the area and were interested to get a close-up look at the aiplane.  We all landed on  small bar and everybody got the personal tour of 84C.  With the new Lightspeed Headsets its a joy to fly and commnicate quietly with your passenger on the intercom.  All the engine instruments(ELECTRONICS INTERNATIONAL) are right on and stable, and the JPI fuel flow computer indicates miles per gallon and easily allows the pilot to stretch fuel on a long trip. Some nice KNIK GLACIER photos follow………….
